CallingNotesPre: Setup= Improper BUT SEE CALLING NOTES!!!
{1} Tell dancers that they have reached the end of the dance, but they
haven't progressed. Not to worry - this dance has an unusual beginning
which will fix that. After the second walk through leave a couple out
at the top for immediate reentry after the California Twirl that starts
  the dance.

Start teaching the dance in regular old improper formation by instructing
dancers to balance and swing their neighbors. Let them know that the
balance and swing is just a placeholder, because the dance begins in an
  unsual way.
